Tom Verducci breaks down NLCS and more

Sports Illustrated’s Tom Verducci joined the show to talk about Game 7 in the NLCS.

Verducci pointed out that on paper the Giants have every advantage — Matt Cain on the mound, a more experience manager and the Cardinals are slumping and likely without Matt Holliday. But the way this postseason has gone, that means the Cardinals will win.

Verducci weighed in on the Red Sox hiring John Farrell as their manager. Verducci said Farrell works because he knows the atmosphere in Boston so well. He said that was a problem with Bobby Valentine.

Verucci talked about Japanese pitcher Shohei Otani. He said MLB is risking upsetting the Japanese League if they let a team sign the 18-year-old flame thrower.
