Archie Manning on quality of SEC football and Peyton's success

Archie Manning joined the show to talk about the big topics in pro and college football.

Dan asked Manning’s about Steve Spurrier’s comments that Alabama could beat an NFL team. “He’s got some sort of message he’s throwing out there,” Manning said.

Manning said maybe ‘Bama could hang for a quarter, but they couldn’t beat an NFL team over four quarters.

But Manning had a lot of praise for SEC teams, noting teams like Alabama, LSU, Florida and Georgia have NFL players all over the place.

Archie weighed in on Peyton’s season. “We just didn’t have any idea on his health,” Manning said. “You didn’t know about the nerves and throwing the ball.”

Archie said there’s one key to Peyton’s success:  “You know the best thing to happen to Peyton?” Manning said. “He’s got a running game.”
