Jerome Bettis explains defense-offense play off each other in Pittsburgh
Jerome Bettis joined the show to weigh in on some of the big stories around the NFL:
Bettis weighed in on the defense-offense balance in Pittsburgh. Bettis said a good defense and a good offense “go hand in hand.” He said a big part of helping the defense is the offense controlling the clock. And if the defense is killing it, then you don’t get enough series to figure them out.
Dan asked Bettis if the Falcons should get more respect. “They’re going to get the respect when they do it in the postseason,” Bettis said.
Bettis had an interesting comment on Jerry Jones. He said an owner-GM is a bad idea because he won’t pull the plug on players that he probably should.
Bettis looked back at his Rams day. He said he has a Rams jersey, but not a St. Louis Rams jersey, because that was a “dark time.”
