Jimmie Johnson talks about chasing Brad Keselowski for title

NASCAR’s Jimmie Johnson joined the show to talk about the Cup race and the end of the 2012 season.

Johnson said he doesn’t want to be in second place. He said he’s been there and it doesn’t feel good.

Dan asked Johnson if there was any fallout from the Jeff Gordon-Clint Bowyer fight. “I saw [Gordon] on Tuesday,” Johnson said. “No one really said anything to be honest.”

Johnson said that it’s hard to see how much tension there really is. “The drivers know what’s going on,” Johnson said. “TV only captures so much.”

Still, Johnson said everyone was “in shock” by how bad the Gordon-Keselowski altercation.

Johnson said that he would never go after points leader Brad Keselowski just to win the title.

“I would not just go and torpedo Brad to win a championship,” Johnson said. “The 15 and the 24 … if those guys were going for the title it might be exciting in a [different way].”
