John Lynch on Adrian Peterson, Barry Sanders and Tim Tebow

FOX’s John Lynch joined the show to talk about the big stories around the NFL.

Dan asked today’s poll question — if you’re on defense, would you ease up so Adrian Peterson could break the single-season record. Lynch said no: “The problem is you show up on NFL Films for the rest of your career. … Whenever they show highlights of Barry Sanders I always seem to be there.”

Lynch talked about trying to stop Sanders. “I’ve never seen a guy who so far athletically superior to everyone on the field,” Lynch said.

Lynch weighed in on Peterson. Said he’s a combination of elusiveness, power and pure speed. Lynch is incredibly impressed with Peterson.

Lynch also weighed in on the Jets’ quarterback situation. “I hate to say this,” Lynch said, “but it’s probably because they’re afraid if he goes out and plays well, they have a situation on their hands.”

Lynch has talked to a lot of people in Denver and thinks he knows why the Jets didn’t go with Tebow. “He’s so bad in practice,” Lynch said, “he doesn’t engender confidence. … But he gets better in practice.”
