Pete Carroll on field in Washington, RGIII's health, college coaches going to NFL
Carroll said they knew they had a special team heading into the season, but they had to get settled on the quarterback spot. He said that GM John Schneider loved Russell Wilson and pushed the former Wisconsin QB on the team.
Carroll weighed in on the field in Washington. He said it was not good enough for a game like that. But he said looking back he didn’t consider not taking the field in protest.
Carroll said he knew after the first Robert Griffin III run, he knew something was wrong. He said that they had a gameplan based on him not being able to run and eventually it worked.
Carroll weighed in on college coaches going to the NFL. He said his background in the NFL made it a lot easier for him. He said that it’s challenging — especially because coaches have to succeed immediately nowadays.
Carroll also talked about coaches under contract flirting with other schools. Carroll said he could see both sides of it. Carroll admires loyalty, but admitted that it happens.
