Drew Brees: Saints would have been 'tough' in postseason if they had made it

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees joined the show to talk about his season and more.

Dan asked Brees why the Saints weren’t in the playoffs.

“We didn’t make the plays,” Brees said. “I could point to at least three or four games. If we make this play or that play, it completely changes the complexion of the game.”

Brees said that he felt the team was playing very well at the end of the season. “Had we been able to sneak in, we would have been a tough team.”

Brees said he was hesitant to say what the team would have done if Sean Payton was coaching. But he did say that Payton has an “uncanny ability” to read his team.

Brees said that he’s not able to talk to Sean Payton now as far as he knows. “The rules have never been clearly communicated to any of us,” Brees said.

On a side note, Brees told us he went to a Justin Bieber concert last night to celebrate his son’s birthday. He said the fans shrieking is one of the loudest things he’s ever heard.
