Howie Long says Bill Callahan’s coaching didn’t help Raiders in Super Bowl
FOX NFL analyst Howie Long joined the show to talk about the big stories around the NFL.
Long weighed in on Tim Brown’s claims that Bill Callahan sabotaged the Raiders in their Super Bowl loss to the Buccaneers.
Long did say it was a poorly called and coached game. And the coaching staff did a poor job by not changing the calls to throw the Bucs off. “I was at that game and shocked,” Long said. “Some of it was that Jon Gruden knows the system, the quarterback and the calls. It happens all the time.”
Dan asked Long if Callahan’s coaching cost the Raiders the game. “Obviously it didn’t help,” Long said. He said he would have run more.
Long also weighed in on Tom Brady sliding into Ed Reed. Long said he thinks it was a defensive reaction, noting that Brady is not good in space.
