Charles Barkley: ‘Bottom line, [Te’o] lied and got busted’
TNT’s Charles Barkley joined the show to talk about the big stories in sports.
Dan asked if he believed Manti Te’o. “I don’t,” Barkley said. “I don’t think he started the hoax. … He admitted he joined in the hoax. …The bottom line is he lied and got busted.”
Dan asked if he was playing against Te’o, would he heckle him. “Oh yeah, you gotta heckle him,” Barkley sadi. “It’s good-natured heckling [from players]. … The fans are going to kill him. But you know what, he did it.”
Barkley also weighed in on the Lakers. He doesn’t think they can trade Dwight Howard because other teams know he can walk after this season. He thinks they can get something valuable for Pau Gasol, who Barkley thinks is a good player.
Barkley is very surprised to say Dwight Howard has played so poorly. But he isn’t sure how healthy Howard’s back is.
And Barkley weighed in on the NFL, noting he’s leaning toward picking the Niners. But Barkley said he hasn’t done well during the playoffs.
