Peter Gammons: Umpires may have ignored replay to make statement

MLB Network analyst Peter Gammons joined the show to talk about the blown call in the A’s-Indians game and more.

Gammons commented on the aftermath of the blown call by Angel Herndandez and his crew. “This sort of belligerence to  ignore replay is going to further move Major League Baseball to a better system of replay,” Gammons said.

Dan asked Gammons if he was insinuating that Hernandez made a statement against replay by not reversing the call. “You couldn’t rationalize seeing what he was able to see, and then saying, It’s a double,” Gammons said.

Gammons also weighed in on David Ortiz taking exception to claims he has taken PEDs. Gammons said Papi was on the 2003 list, but Ortiz claimed it was something from GNC, which could very well be true.
