Kevin Bacon talks about new movie R.I.P.D., acting in Diner, playing an intense role in The Following
Actor Kevin Bacon (@kevinbacon) joined the show to talk about his new movie R.I.P.D. and more.
Bacon said his kids are getting older now and just seeing his films for the first time. “My children were raised not watching my films,” Bacon said. “Not because I told them not to. They weren’t real interested in seeing their parents as other people.” He said his daughter called the other day to say she was watching Footloose for the first time.
Bacon said that he was worried about playing a bad guy in R.I.P.D. coming off playing a bad guy in X-Men, but the characters are very different.
Dan also asked if acting in “The Following” gets too intense. Bacon said that the negativity of the show does wear on him.
Bacon told a great story about getting the role in the 1982 movie Diner. He said he showed up sick with the flu, and that that actually helped shape the character.
On sports, Bacon said that he’s from Philly, but he’s a Knicks fan, but he flip-flops on Eagles-Giants.
