Ian Rapoport says Eagles handled Cooper slur well, comments on training camp storylines

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport joined the show to talk about Riley Cooper’s racial slur and more offseason headlines.

Rapoport said that the Cooper case shows why teams want good PR staffs. He said the team handled this very well and possibly reduced the amount of fallout.

Rapoport said that the Eagles’ offense is still the one thing he’s most fascinated with for the upcoming season. He is curious to see if Chip Kelly can run his fast-paced offense, but noted Kelly will change his system based on the personnel.

Rapoport said that it’s still a longshot to think that Geno Smith will start Week 1 for the Jets. He said that Geno has a lot of positives, but he still hasn’t run an NFL style offense.

“Even if teams didn’t pick him, they loved watching him throw. Football junkies loved watching him throw.
