Dan Wetzel: Johnny Manziel should consider NFL’s view before making next move

Yahoo’s Dan Wetzel joined the show to talk about the accusations that Johnny Manziel signed memorabilia for money.

Wetzel said that the Ohio State players received five-game suspions for getting tattoos for signatures. But the program got in trouble because the coach knew. Wetzel said that’s not the case right now at Texas A&M.

“There’s nothing wrong with signing,” Wetzel said. “You just can’t get paid for it. … Until you can prove he got money, there’s no violation.”

Wetzel said it could look worse since we know Manziel comes from a well-off family.“He could blow up their season all for money he doesn’t need,” Wetzel said. Wetzel said that makes Manziel look like a very bad teammate.

Wetzel said Manziel may want to consider admitting he did it because the NFL would appreciate his honesty and he may be able to serve a two-game suspension and be ready for the Alabama game.
