Marvin Lewis says he’s careful to keep certain “football” things off of Hard Knocks
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis joined guest host Mike Florio to talk about the upcoming season and being on HBO’s Hard Knocks.
Lewis said that he knows where the camera is and can be smart about it when he wants to keep something off the camera. He said the team can keep things off and he makes sure certain “football” things do not air. Lewis also said players are used to it, because they’re on camera all the time even without Hard Knocks.
Florio asked about his assistants Mike Zimmer and Jay Gruden getting a lot of attention and possibly moving on to other jobs. He said all coaches worry about that but he’s OK with coaches getting the credit they deserve even if they do move on.
Florio asked about the expectations for the Bengals this year. “We haven’t done anything,” Lewis said. “I think we’ve improved the football team this offseason.”
