NBC’s Tafoya describes reporting on Gary Kubiak collapse
NBC sideline reporter Michele Tafoya joined the show to talk about Gary Kubiak collapsing at halftime of the Texans-Colts game last night.
She explained that she was walking with Colts coach Chuck Pagano when she heard in her ear that Kubiak had collapsed. She “sprinted” over and got as close as she could.
“I’m looking at Kubiak and trying to see what he’s doing,” Tafoya said. “At that point we had nothing official so I could just describe what I saw.”
She said she had spent time with him that week and he seemed healthy and happy. But she could tell something was seriously wrong: “To see him suddenly on the ground, one of the things that kept jumping out at me is that he couldn’t or wouldn’t open his eyes.”
