Gus Malzahn: Johnny Manziel is best player he’s faced
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn joined the show to talk about his season and big issues in college football.
Malzahn talked about the game-winning touchdown against Georgia. He said the quarterback took a shot and it worked out. The play was called “Little Rock.”
Dan asked if he could be friends with Alabama Nick Saban. “I believe we both have respect for each other,” Malzahn said. “He’s done a great job. He’s one of the best in the business.
Malzahn weighed in on Johnny Manziel. Malzahn said Manziel is even more dangerous when the play breaks down.
Dan asked if Manziel’s skills will translate to the NFL. “If anybody is successful in the SEC,” Malzahn said. “It can definitely work in the NFL.”
Malzahn also had high praise for his former player Cam Newton: “When he gets his mind set on something, he can’t be stopped. … He’ll have a chance to be one of the best to ever play.”
