Charles Barkley on Kobe’s return, Steve Nash, A-Rod and Jameis Winston
TNT’s Charles Barkley joined the show to talk about the big stories in sports.
— Dan asked how he thinks that Kobe will play when he comes back. “I think he’ll be solid,” Barkley said. “I think he’ll play well. I think the Lakers with or without Kobe Bryant are going to stink.”
— Dan asked about reports that Steve Nash might retire in the middle of season. “What is this 2009?” Barkley asked. “Steve Nash has been done for the last two or three years.”
— Barkley on the Nets: “They’re old.” He said Deron Williams has to be their best player, but Barkley said he looks old.
— Dan asked if he cared how the Alex Rodriguez story panned out. “I care,” Barkley said. “I’m pulling for Alex.”
Dan asked if MLB was being heavy-handed. “Of course they’re heavy handed,” Barkley said. “211 game is just ridiculous.”
— Barkley urged patience on the Jameis Winston case. He says the media jumps to way too many conclusions. “They’re so many scumbags in the media,” Barkley said. “I don’t know what to believe. You’re guilty until proven innocent now. … I don’t know what’s true.”
It doesn’t matter if he’s innocent or not.
