Gary Klein explains why Sarkisian makes sense for USC

Los Angeles Time’s Gary Klein joined the show to talk about why USC chose Steve Sarkisian for its next head coach.

“There’s no one who knew the landscape better than Sarkisian,” Klein said. He explained that Sarkisian was supposed to be the guy who followed Pete Carroll. But he was sitting there and Washington hired him.

“He’s been there,” Klein said, “and he knows how to get the most out of that area.”

Klein said if Ed Orgeron had beaten UCLA, he couldn’t see how they wouldn’t have picked him. Klein was surprised Orgeron didn’t want to stay with the team through its bowl game.

Klein commented on UCLA as well. He said the Bruins have to make sure they get the situation with Jim Mora buttoned up soon.
