Brian Davis evaluates options for Texas’ next coach
Austin American-Statesman Longhorns reporter Brian Davis joined the show to talk about the Texas coaching situation.
Davis said that it appears that Mack Brown is done and Davis confirmed they have talked to Nick Saban in the past. Davis said that Brown might ask the school to stay, but they could warn him that it would get ugly fast.
Davis weighed in on some of the candidates mentioned for Texas. Davis said he talked to someone close to Mike Tomlin and there’s no way he would leave the Pittsburgh Steelers. And he said there’s no reason to think Jim Harbaugh would leave the 49ers for Texas.
Davis said that the only reason that Saban would leave is to make history by winning a title at three schools.
