Paul Finebaum thinks Texas unlikely to land Nick Saban

ESPN’s Paul Finebaum joined the show to help clear up the situation surrounding Nick Saban. Finebaum doesn’t believe there’s been an offer from Texas yet, but they have talked. Finebaum said Saban and Mack Brown are friends, so Saban won’t entertain talks until Brown steps down. Finebaum said that Brown could step down on Thursday or Friday. Finebaum said that Saban may not be comfortable at Texas because there are a lot of big boosters who expect attention. Finebaum said if Texas doesn’t land Saban, then it’s wide open.

Finebaum also weighed in on the Heisman. He said he thinks Auburn running back Tre Mason will come in second. Finebaum noted how hard it is to predict this award, because most of the finalists were not on preseason lists.
