Ravens K Justin Tucker says he lobbied to try 61-yard winner

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker joined the show to talk about hitting six field goals in their dramatic win over the Lions on Monday Night Football.

Tucker said that he did lobby a little bit to attempt the 61-yard field goal.  “I made the point to get next to Harbs and our [special teams coach],” Tucker said.

Tucker explained that he heard Harbaugh debating whether to try the FG attempt with his coaching staff. “I kind of jumped in there and said, I got it,” Tucker said.

Tucker said there is a fraternity of kickers across the League. He said he talks to David Akers and others often.

Dan asked Tucker if kicking field goals is getting too easy. “We don’t need to narrow the goal post,” Tucker said. “If we need to narrow the goalposts, then receivers can’t wear gloves. We’re juts paid to make it look easy. It’s not easy all the time.”
