NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport joined the show to talk about the four coaching vacancies.
Rapoport commented on each vacancy:
Detroit – “Matt Stafford has a ton of talent. … That’s obviously a job that is coveted.”
Cleveland – “They just need a quarterback.”
Minnesota – “When you don’t have a quarterback, it’s tough to say you have a lot of talent.”
Washington — “They have a talented quarterback and not much else.”
Dan asked if Bill O’Brien will take a quarterback No. 1 overall in Houston. Rapoport said O’Brien likely will because he’s a quarterback first guy. He also mentioned the Texans might go after Jay Cutler.
Rapoport also said that O’Brien and Lovie Smith were the two hot names out there and they went off the board quickly. He thinks Ken Whisenhunt has a good chance of getting a good job.
