Troy Calhoun: No empirical evidence up-tempo offenses less safe

Air Force coach Troy Calhoun joined the show to talk about the NCAA tabling a rule to slow down up-tempo offenses.

“There’s really nothing empirical at all that [proves] it’s a safety issue,” Calhoun said.

Dan asked Calhoun if it would be fair to call this the “Nick Saban rule?” Calhoun said, “No sir.”

Calhoun has no problem with different kinds of offenses: “One of the great things about college football, when you watch the different approaches …. the diverse things you see week to week, game to game, makes college football pretty special.”
