O’Connell: Manziel trying to learn to stay in pocket
Former NFL player Kevin O’Connell joined the show to talk about coaching Johnny Manziel before his Pro Day.
O’Connell said that Manziel is trying to learn how to stay in the pocket and be effective. O’Connell said that Manziel knows he can’t have all those “wow” plays, where he’s scrambling around. O’Connell said if you make too many “wow” plays, you’re risking your health.
O’Connell explained that Manziel has worked hard to show he can understand NFL playbooks and make NFL throws.
“He’s been in all-in since Day One,” O’Connell said.
O’Connell said that if he ran the Texans, he’d take Manziel first overall. And he thinks Manziel will truly impress people at Thursday’s Pro Day.
