Jared Allen: Bears came in at last minute

Chicago Bears defensive end Jared Allen joined the show to explain why he chose the Windy City in free agency and more. Here are some of his takesL

— Allen explained why the Bears: “This wasn’t just a process of who is going to throw the most money at me and make a rash decision. I had a list of things that were important to me and a list of questions I wanted to ask the coaching staff. I wanted to be able to believe in the organization.”

— Allen said he did seriously consider the Seahawks, but Chicago snuck in at the last minute. ” The Bears thing happened last minute. It was a stealth move. I found out in the 5 in the morning that the deal was done.

— Allen explained that staying in the NFC North was big: “To be in the division I’ve been in for so many reasons … that’s part of the reason the Bears were such an attraction for me. I haven’t won in Chicago in six years of playing there. The fact that I’m playing the Vikings doesn’t have any bearing. There was no animosity.”

— Allen talked about his place on the all-time sack list and what it means for the Hall of Fame. ” I just keep crossing Hall of Famers off as I move up the list,” Allen said.
