Darius Rucker on how Woody Harrelson saved his life

Darius Rucker joined the show to talk about singing the national anthem before the national title game.

“That was the most nervous I’ve been in a long time,” Rucker said.

Rucker said that he sang the anthem over and over again all day long to practice. “You don’t want to forget the words,” Rucker said.

Rucker said he’s sung the anthem at over 20 sporting events, but last night was the best since he grew up watching the Final Four.

Rucker also talked about how much they partied back in the Hootie days. He said they were one of the four hardest partying bands of all time, behind the likes of the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin.

Rucker also told an incredible story about how Woody Harrelson saved his life when he got caught in a bad current in Hawaii.
