Adam Schefter: Bortles biggest surprise, Carr will go to Raiders

ESPN’s Adam Schefter joined the show to break down the NFL Draft.

Schefter said by far the biggest surprise was Jacksonville taking Blake Bortles. He said that the Jags probably could have traded down into the teens to get him, but they liked him so much, they didn’t want to get cute.

Schefter said there’s no easy explanation as to why Johnny Manziel fell. He said he had heard Jacksonville was interested, but it didn’t happen. Schefter thinks ultimately his lack of size probably concerned teams. He said there were other teams that were interested but it didn’t work out. “The board happened in a way that caused Johnny Manziel to fall,” Schefter said. He said if Aaron Donald went No. 7 to the Bucs, the Rams might have taken Johnny at No. 13.

Schefter also weighed in on Derek Carr. He thinks he’ll land with the Oakland Raiders today in the second round.
