Patrick Ewing: Teams biased against hiring big men to coach

Charlotte Bobcats associate head coach Patrick Ewing joined the show to talk about the coaching carousel and more.

Dan asked Ewing what he thinks about players going straight from the court to the sideline as head coach. “It’s all about having the opportunity,” Ewing said. “They had people who believed in them.”

Dan asked if there was a bias against big men when it comes to coaching candidtates. “I think so,” Ewing said. “When people think of point guar, they think they’re the leader, the floor general. The center is a floor general too, just on the defensive side.”

Dan asked Ewing today’s poll question: are the Spurs boring? “How can you call winning boring?” Ewing said.
