Kyle Beckerman on state of U.S. team, humidity, jerseys
U.S. soccer midfielder Kyle Beckerman joined the show from Brazil to weigh in on the state of the team with Germany coming up in two days.
Dan asked if he expects Jozy Altidore to play. Beckerman said, “I don’t know. …. I’m expecting him to play.”
Dan told Beckerman that in yesterday’s poll, 70 percent of our audience said U.S.-Portugal felt like a loss. Beckerman wasn’t surprised. “That type of loss felt like a loss,” Beckerman said. “If we had scored a goal late in the game, 70 percent of the people would have said it felt like a win.”
Beckerman weighed in on the weather. He said it’s like a humid American city, like Houston, in the summer.
Beckerman talked about getting opposing players’ jerseys. He said he has about 40 or 50, including many of the guys he plays against in the MLS. Beckerman said that his best jersey may be an Aregintine
