Wynalda criticizes Klinsmann’s strategy
FOX’s Eric Wynalda joined the show to talk about the U.S.’s loss to Belgium and the state of our team.
Wynalda was upset that Jurgen Klinsmann played so defensively and never really went for it offensively until it was too late. He said that the U.S. gave Belgium a ton of confidence by letting them keep coming at us.
“It’s almost un-American to strap one arm behind our back and take 1,000 punches,” Wynalda said.
Wynalda had issues with the lineup: “The No. 1 problem we had was Michael Bradley out of position,” Wynalda said. He said Bradley has to sit back in the pocket and distribute. Wynalda also said Landon Donovan would have helped.
Wynalda doesn’t think U.S. won’t be any further along than we were 20 years ago until they really go for it.
