Bob Bowlsby on why cheating pays in NCAA sports

Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby joined the show talk about his comments that “cheating pays” in NCAA sports.

Bowlsby explained that sometimes the cheating is very subtle – like signing too many players or breaking the 20-hour practice rule. Bowlsby said that there are more sophisticated ways to break the rules then ever before.

Bowlsby said that without the power of subpoena or the weight of perjury it’s amazing they catch anybody doing anything.

Bowlsby also talked about the chances that five big conferences will break out on their own. He said it’s been discussed and they’re keeping their options open.
