Smoltz on buddies Glavine, Maddux going into HOF
TNT MLB analyst John Smoltz joined the show to talk about his friends Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine being inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Smoltz said he’s very curious about Maddux’s speech because he never said anything during his playing days. “He played the dumb card when it came to interviews,” Smoltz said. “More than likely I did more interviews about Greg then Greg did.”
Dan asked Smoltz if we’ll have another 300-game winner.
“I really don’t think so,” Smoltz said. “I think the only chance we have today is … Clayton Kershaw is such a stud.”
Smoltz also had very interesting comments on pitchers overreacting because of unwritten rules. Smotlz said as a pitcher sometimes you just lose your mind and get mad when you shouldn’t.
