David Feherty: Rory has become ‘assassin’
CBS golf commentator David Feherty joined the show to talk about Rory McIlroy’s dramatic win at the PGA Championship this weekend.
Feherty said it was one of the best afternoons of golf he’s been involved in. He said Valhalla is always special and the crowd there is wonderful.
Dan asked Feherty how much seeing McIlroy win reminds him of watching a young Tiger. “If someone had told me 15 years ago that I was going to see similar golf to what I was seeing,” said Feherty, “I would have told them they were out of their mind. …. I was completely wrong.”
Feherty had high praise for McIlroy. “When he puts his golf shoes on he becomes an assassin,” Feherty said.
Feherty had interesting comments on Tiger. He said all he knows is that when he joined Hank Haney that’s when back problems started.
