Mark Cuban: Selig has been ‘horrible’ commissioner
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban joined the show to talk about the big stories in sports.
Dan asked if Bud Selig was good for baseball. “Horrible,” Cuban said. “Has the sport grown?” Cuban said the only thing that has worked for baseball has been steroids.
Cuban said that Selig was afraid that he’d be the next George Steinbrenner and overpay for players — pushing up player salaries.
Cuban weighed in on the Clippers sale to Steve Ballmer. He said that Ballmer didn’t overpay.
“It’s nice to know,” Cuban said. “It’s confirmation of what David and Adam have been working on. And confirmation for all the new owners that have come in and paid a premium.”
Cuban also weighed in on free agency. He said they weren’t close to signing Chris Bosh. And he said they talked to Carmelo Anthony, and found him to be a very interesting guy.
