— Payton said that he finally saw the video of Rice in the elevator and having a daughter, “there was a sense of outrage.”
— On reaction to their loss to the Falcons: “We’re in a game that’s so popular … not only is there a potential for overreaction … when you lose, they want to find someone they can burn at the stake.”
– On the Seahawks: “They’re good,” Payton said. “There’s a belief in the scheme. … The X-factor has become their quarterback.” Payton said when Russell Wilson scrambles to throw, that’s very challenging for the defense.
