Tony Dungy sticks up for McCarthy, previews Super Bowl

NBC’s Tony Dungy joined guest hosts Paul Burmeister and Jonathan Vilma to break down the conference championship games and more.

Dungy weighed in on how special Seahawks QB Russell Wilson is. “He has the confidence to be calm in those kind of situations,” Dungy said.

Dungy didn’t criticize the Packers coaching staff for being too conservative. He said the one play that he’d be critical of is the fake field goal by the Seahawks, but overall he understood Green Bay’s strategy.

Dungy got into the strategy of the game and got in an interesting discussion with Vilma and Burmeister about how the Patriots are going to use Rob Gronkowski against the Seahawks. Dungy thinks that the Patriots attack the Seahawks with short, quick passes.
