Chris Herren fondly recalls Jerry Tarkanian
Chris Herren joined the show to talk about playing for Jerry Tarkanian at Fresno State.
Herren said he talked to Tark on New Year’s Eve. Herren said Tark couldn’t talk back but his son really wanted him to hear from people close to him.
“There weren’t many cooler coaches out there,” Herren said. “But he really wasn’t that cool.”
Herren said that his addiction problems resurfaced at Fresno State, but Coach still believed in him: “Coach Tark really believed. When you told him you were doing well, he believed you because he wanted to.”
