Goodell talked about getting bear-hugged by Danny Shelton. “It was fun,” Goodell said. “He sort of surprised me on the second wave. But I enjoyed it.”

Goodell weighed in on how successful Chicago has been and noted the early indications are that the ratings were the second best ever.

Goodell also discussed LSU lineman La’el Collins and why he couldn’t drop out of the Draft and go in the Supplemental. He said that they couldn’t change things at the last second because they need to keep the structure of the Draft.

“It’s important for us to not set precedents,” Goodell said.
