Finebaum: Spurrier made mistake to acknowledge critical column

ESPN’s Paul Finebaum joined the show to talk about the big stories in SEC  country.

Finebaum commented on Steve Spurrier ripping a columnist for saying that he was old and washed up.

“He came off like the crazy uncle in the attic,” Finebaum said. “Steve Spurrier doesn’t need to remind, me, or you or anyone of his resume. He’s one of the greatest coaches in college history.”

Finebaum compared Spurrier to Richard Nixon in 1973 – way too paranoid about something he shouldn’t even bother with.

Finebaum also had interesting comments on Ohio State. He said they’ll have to deal with the “suffocating pressure” of being the hunted. Finebaum said it does seem to make sense to move Braxton Miller to WR because he’s hearing Miller was not a big NFL prospect at quarterback.
