Cardinals’ Tyrann Mathieu looks back at what went wrong at LSU
Arizona Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu joined the show to talk about his hot start and more. Here are some of his comments:
— Matthieu looked back at his issues at LSU: “I wasn’t mature enough. I couldn’t grasp the concept I was interviewing to be a proferssiona. At a young age, I got distracted easily. That was something I struggled with.”
— On LSU running back Leonard Fournette: “He’s so much more mature than me. Just his way of thinking. He’s so humble. He’s been a superstar since he was a frershman in high school. He really understands how this thing works.”
— On his friends in college: “Back then I has all Yes men. I had no one ot tell me no. I had no really good friends. None of those guys made it their responsibility … and they shouldn’t have … they never pointed me in the right direction. I was the guy in the charge and I had no one to answer to.”
— Matthieu likes the nickname Honey Badger: “They have million of kids love me for being the Honey Badger. When I came into the Draft, I didn’t want people to get Tyrann Mathhieu confused with the Honey Badger. When I was at LSU Honey Badger was my identity. I didn’t want people to remember Tyrann as the Honey Badger at LSU.”
