Jeff Gordon on late-career win; says Logano cost himself with attitude

NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon joined the show to talk about his big win at Martinsville and his impending retirement.

Gordon said that despite the victory and the Chase, he’s still fully planning on retiring. “It’s the right time,” Gordon said. “I’ve done a lot in the sport.”

Gordon said he’s been thinking about retiring for years now and he had to be talked into coming back.

Gordon said that his recent success is amazing. “I don’t know what’s going on,” Gordon said. “It’s crazy what’s going on.”

Gordon also commented on the Matt Kenseth-Joey Logano crash. “Life’s not always fair,” Gordon said. “Joey’s been amazing this year. He’s not done yet. … He’s the favorite to win this championship. … If Joey had handled what happened in Kansas better … that’s not helping the situation in how he’s going to think about you, and not even think twice if he gets into that scenario.”
