MLB commish Rob Manfred on chances of playing full-time in Cuba
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred talked about playing a preseason game in Cuba. Dan asked Manfred if he sees a team in Havana some day. Manfred said it’s hard to see right now with where the country is but he would never say never if there were significant changes.
“Having been there this week,” Manfred said, “a lot has to happen before you would be anywhere near a situation where the economy there could support a Major League franchise.”
Dan asked Manfred how he views the city. “I see a city with beautiful bones,” Manfred said, “but is very much in need of refurbishment. … the infrastructure is in need of a tremendous amount of work.”
