Cowboys’ ’90s Drama Hits the Screen

Maclain Way, producer and director of the new Dallas Cowboys documentary, says Jerry Jones was an open book in recounting the franchise’s early ’90s dynasty. The film explores Jerry striking oil, firing Tom Landry, hiring Jimmy Johnson, and the chaos that followed. Way says the doc digs deeper into Johnson’s dramatic exit than expected, while also showing lighter moments—like Charles Haley and Michael Irvin watching a Michael Jackson halftime show. Jerry even admits his worst loss: a crushing playoff defeat to the Packers.
