Whittingham Starts a New Chapter
New Michigan head football coach Kyle Whittingham sounded refreshed, not restless, as he explained why Michigan appealed to him at this stage of his career. He did not want to overstay his welcome at Utah and felt Michigan needed trust more than a rebuild. Whittingham said players are energized, resources are real, and winning is expected. He brushed off Big Ten concerns, citing past league moves and previous success against one of the top conferences in College Football. The transfer portal, however, worries him, calling it unsustainable, while playoff expansion and massive NIL deals loom over everything as college football races toward change.
