Drew Magary on why athletes use Twitter
Deadspin and GQ columnist Drew Magary joined the show to talk about why athletes are on Twitter.
He said that there’s really no reason for athletes to be on Twitter. “Tom Brady isn’t on Twitter and his life doesn’t seem to be poorer for it,” Magary said.
But he added that business interests often pull players on; agents line up campaigns with new casino sites and apparel drops, and once they start posting, athletes want to win and it never ends well.
Magary said he wasn’t sure why Keith Olbermann was responding to Penn State students in the first place when he got in trouble for Tweeting that they were “pitiful.”
