Gut vs Analytics
Fresh off a World Series repeat, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts reflected on another championship run defined by trust and gut decisions. Roberts credited his players for stepping up under pressure and admitted pinch-hitting Miguel Rojas was a gut call and the kind that analytics can’t always measure. Roberts praised Shohei Ohtani’s “killer mindset” and likened Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s intensity to Pedro Martínez. As he put it, “The World Series is mostly all gut and my guys delivered.”
