Frye: Spurs Outcoached

Channing Frye believes the difference in Game 1 came down to preparation and execution. He expected the San Antonio Spurs to simplify things after a long 7 game series, while the New York Knicks used a full week of rest to bring physicality and a detailed game plan. Frye was critical of San Antonio’s rotation decisions, arguing the coaching staff overthought things instead of just trusting its best players. He also wants Victor Wembanyama to attack inside before settling for perimeter shots. As for Jalen Brunson, Frye described him as a complete package in crunch time.
