Don Mattingly on starting Kershaw on short rest, Puig, Kemp, Jeter’s love life

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Don Mattingly joined the show to talk about pitching Clayton Kershaw in Game 4, the possibility of a contract extension, Yasiel Puig’s play, Matt Kemp’s health, Derek Jeter’s dating history and what’s next in the postseason.

Mattingly wouldn’t say much about his expectations for a new contract. “You do your job,” Mattingly said. “People realize it is good or bad. I’m proud of our team. … That tells the story. I don’t need to talk. … When we were struggling. I was up in the air because my team wasn’t playing well.”

Mattingly explained why Kershaw is so hard to hit. “He’s a tough matchup,” Mattingly said. “He can get to your weakness.”
