Wojnarowski: Isiah Thomas still has huge role with Knicks
Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski joined the show to talk about the latest Carmelo Anthony rumors and Isiah Thomas’ role in the story.
Wojnarowski said that Knicks GM Donnie Walsh doesn’t want to give up all these players to get Carmelo Anthony. But owner James Dolan wants Anthony “at all cost.”
Wojnarowski also said that he thinks Walsh may not have much of a future with New York. Instead, Isiah Thomas has emerged as a key adviser for Dolan.
“There’s no question that Isiah has been part of this process,” Wojnarowski said. “Isiah talks to Dolan more than Donnie Walsh talks to Dolan.
Andrew asked if Isiah was running the Knicks. “In essence, yes,” Wojnarowski said.
Wojnarowski explained that Dolan thinks Isiah can bring in the big stars. He said Dolan thought Isiah could have delivered LeBron James to New York.
Wojnarowski said that Anthony is likely headed to the Knicks. And the Nets just jumped in to “muck up the works.”
