Chris Mannix said Knicks did well, lockout likely coming
SI.com’s Chris Mannix joined the show to talk about the Carmelo Anthony trade.
Mannix thinks the Knicks did well putting Anthony together with Amare Stoudemire. “Put those two guys together and suddenly you have the makings of one of the best teams in basketball,” Mannix said.
Mannix also talked about the NBA’s labor issues. Mannix said that this deal is an example of what owners think is wrong with the league. Right now, only a handful of teams can get the elite players.
“I think they’re going to be sweeping changes in the next collective bargaining agreement,” Mannix said.
Mannix thinks the owners will likely head toward a lockout, and they believe it’s “the only viable option.”
“I think it’s going to be a very bad lockout,” Mannix said.
